This
COST (European Cooperation in
Science and Technology) action aims at providing a virtual coordination
center at a pan European level to address several issues related to
Molecular Farming. Enabling
exchange of technology and technical knowhow between scientists with
expertise/funded activities and scientists who are just initiating
programs in Molecular Farming. Together they will sustain and broaden
the scientific basis of European plant research through coordination of
infrastructures of plant biomass production, manufacturing, downstream
processing, purification, product validation and quality control,
clinical trials, IP and regulatory issues. In addition, the action seeks
at involving key institutions from the developing countries initially
via their participation to the annual work group meetings and workshop.
The outcome of the Action will be a
sustainable European plant Molecular Farming community with clear
frameworks for regulatory, biosafety and IP issues.
